Basketball Recap: Crest Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Crest entered their tilt with South Point on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They secured a 69-63 W over the South Point Red Raiders. The Chargers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

Crest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cal Pass Jr., who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Lyrik Pettis was another key player, going 8 for 16 on his way to 19 points.

Crest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

South Point's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaishawn Woods, who went 9 of 19 en route to 25 points. Woods is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was OB Lowery Jr., who went 8 for 16 on his way to 18 points and five assists.

Crest's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for South Point, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.
