            Basketball Recap: Carver Vo-Tech Bears vs. Springdale Prep Lions        
        
		
        
        
            If Carver Vo-Tech was riding high  fresh off their  71-11 takedown of Digital Harbor last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Carver Vo-Tech Bears took  a  71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Springdale Prep Lions on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings  (they are ranked 96th, while the Lions are ranked 21st).

 Despite the loss, Carver Vo-Tech still got an impressive performance from   David Ross, who  dropped  a double-double on 14  points and 11  rebounds. Ross has become a key player for Carver Vo-Tech: the team is 10-5 when he posts  at  least  eight  boards, but 2-3 otherwise.  Kaiden Matthews was another key player,  going 5 for 11  to rack up 12 points.
Carver Vo-Tech dropped their record down to 12-8 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Springdale Prep, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 25-7.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carver Vo-Tech will welcome National Academy Foundation  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Springdale Prep will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Avalon at 6:30  p.m.  on February 17th.
