Baseball Game Preview: Twin Valley Raiders vs. Cedar Crest Falcons

The Twin Valley Raiders will challenge the Cedar Crest Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Twin Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Twin Valley will bounce into Friday's game after beating Wilson, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. The Raiders came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Raiders sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Ben Vaughan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Vaughan was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate DiRocco, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Nate Lord was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cedar Crest fell victim to Hempfield and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Black Knights, falling 12-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Twin Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cedar Crest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
