Softball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

The Somerville Pioneers didn't have quite enough to beat the Lawrence Cardinals on Saturday and fell 4-3. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Somerville's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Lawrence, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Somerville will take on Dunellen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Destroyers have averaged an impressive 11.9 runs per game this season. As for Lawrence, they will challenge Hightstown on Tuesday.
