Basketball Recap: Sargent Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Ignacio came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Sargent, but Kandace Pargin wouldn't allow it. The Sargent Farmers really took it to the Ignacio Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-17 win thanks in part to Pargin, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (seven).

Angelise Garcia was another key player, going 5 for 7 en route to 11 points. Garcia is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Sargent is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points per game. As for Ignacio, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Sargent is taking a road trip to take on La Veta at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Veta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Ignacio has already played their next game (against Pagosa Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
