Volleyball Recap: Valentine's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

After a string of five wins, Valentine's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the Hershey Panthers. Valentine was not able to make up for their defeat to Hershey from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Valentine started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Mia Sherbeyn paced Valentine's offense, picking up 20 kills. Sherbeyn got some help from Devahney Belville and her 48 assists. Belville was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Valentine's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hershey, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Valentine will venture away from home to face off against Gordon-Rushville on Thursday. As for Hershey, they will head out to square off against Loomis on Tuesday.
