Volleyball Recap: Victoria Parra Key Part of Team Effort in Scorpions Win

Hesperia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Carter Lions by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Scorpions also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2019.

Hesperia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Victoria Parra led the charge by getting six kills and three aces. Parra has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 12 times she's played. Dylanna Akwaboah was another key player, getting 13 assists.

Hesperia has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Granite Hills on the 9th. As for Carter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Indian Springs on the 9th.
