It was a good run, but Wheatland-Grinnell unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cheylin Cougars by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Natalie Bixenman paced Wheatland-Grinnell's offense, picking up 18 kills. Bixenman got some help from Evangeline Godek and her 27 assists.

Emily Serrano had a dynamite game For Cheylin., getting 17 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Serrano has posted over her last six matchups.

Wheatland-Grinnell's loss dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Cheylin, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 25-8.

Wheatland-Grinnell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Trego on the 14th. As for Cheylin, they will challenge Wallace County on the 21st.
