Preview: Pittsburg Dragons vs. Parsons Vikings
Pittsburg is 8-2 against Parsons since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pittsburg Dragons will be playing at home against the Parsons Vikings at 7:30 p.m. Pittsburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 660 points over their last nine contests.
Even though Independence scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, Pittsburg still came out on top. Pittsburg walked away with a 76-67 win over Independence. Given Pittsburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Independence is ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Labette County scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Parsons still came out on top. Parsons took their game against Labette County 72-65. The win was just what Parsons needed coming off of a 72-50 loss in their prior match.
Pittsburg is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Parsons, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.
Pittsburg took their win against Parsons in their previous meeting last Wednesday by a conclusive 96-75. Will Pittsburg repeat their success, or does Parsons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
