While Grosse Pointe North's victory against Berkley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Norsemen sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Bears on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Norsemen as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Shane Ulferts tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, DJ Edwards was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Rocho, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Grosse Pointe North's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Berkley, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Grosse Pointe North will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair will be back at it again later today.
