Baseball Recap: Nimitz's Win Ends 13-Game Losing Streak at Home

Nimitz hadn't done well against Westfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Nimitz walked away with a 10-5 win over Westfield. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Alberto Cerino was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Andrew Curtis was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Nimitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfield only posted an OBP of .405.

Nimitz's victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Westfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Nimitz will have a chance to go back-to-back against Westfield: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
