Recap: Bremond Tigers vs. Marlin Bulldogs
The Bremond Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Marlin 59-45. This was payback for Bremond, who suffered a 1-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Marlin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kya Mitchell, who scored 13 points along with nine steals and five rebounds. Mitchell hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Shawna Robinson, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Bremond pushed their record up to 18-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Marlin, their loss ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3.
Bremond will take on Wortham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wortham is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Marlin, they will head out on the road to face off against Dawson at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Dawson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 787th, while Marlin is ranked 239th).
