Softball Recap: Hardin's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Hardin had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past the Kountze Lions 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Olivia Dryden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Lana Beasley was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Taylor Knight also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Hardin's win bumped their record up to 4-13-1. As for Kountze, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hardin will take on rival Warren at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kountze is set to challenge their familiar foe Anahuac at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
