Basketball Recap: Wayne City Comes Up Short

Wayne City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Frankfort Redbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 52-41 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Wayne City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Frankfort, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, Wayne City and Frankfort will both be playing Edwards County the next time they take the court. The Indians will head out to face the Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Redbirds will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
