Softball Game Preview: Legacy Tigers vs. St. Bonaventure Seraphs

The Legacy Tigers will face off against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Legacy comes in on 12 and St. Bonaventure on six.

Legacy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They skirted past Elsinore 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Legacy has posted since March 12th.

Savannah Medina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isabella Medina was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Southwest EC 6-5. That's two games straight that the Seraphs have won by just one run.

Jessika Soliz looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Audrina Tinoco, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Azaria Aguilar, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Legacy pushed their record up to 25-7 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Bonaventure, their victory bumped their record up to 19-11.
