Volleyball Game Preview: Perry Central Commodores vs. Pike Central Chargers

After both having extra time off, the Perry Central Commodores and the Pike Central Chargers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Perry Central managed to slip by Springs Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Commodores came up short against the Blackhawks on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Commodores' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Perry Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Pike Central lost 3-0 to Heritage Hills on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-11.

Perry Central's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 23-7. As for Pike Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-22.

Perry Central was able to grind out a solid win over Pike Central in their previous meeting back in September, winning 2-0. Will the Commodores repeat their success, or do the Chargers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
