Volleyball Recap: Leyden Comes Up Short

Leyden lost against South Elgin two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles fell 2-0 to the Storm.

Leyden's offense was headlined by Elise Bertsche and Sarah Skorna, who picked up two kills apiece. They were helped by Kasia Wadolkowski and Aleksandra Manojlovic, who contributed two assists each. Juliana Guiglio controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leyden's defeat dropped their record down to 9-22. As for South Elgin, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Leyden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Fenton on the 18th. As for South Elgin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Regina Dominican on the 18th.
