Volleyball Game Preview: Morse Tigers vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Morse Tigers will venture away from home to take on the Patrick Henry Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Morse managed to slip by Madison the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 3-0 to the Warhawks on Tuesday.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by exactly two points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25, 25-23.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jhiovanni Lacosta, who had three digs and two aces. He has been hot, having also posted 15 or more assists the last six times he's played. Nowitzki Hillberg was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. Everything went their way against the Rattlers as they made off with a 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Patrick Henry's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-16, 25-15.

Patrick Henry's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Morse, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-11.

Morse was able to grind out a solid win over Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
