Softball Recap: East Hardy Cougars vs. Pendleton County Wildcat
East Hardy extended their losing streak to 15 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-15 in the process. They came up short against the Pendleton County Wildcat, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcat this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-6 back in April.
East Hardy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Bauserman, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Jaylynn Combs, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
As for Pendleton County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 24-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcat, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Pendleton County's side, Avery Townsend was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Townsend has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played. Lizzie Alt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As of now, neither East Hardy nor Pendleton County have any future games scheduled.
