Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryann Owens and Ruby Igel Lead Grandview to Victory + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mullen, Grandview was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arapahoe Warriors, sneaking past 3-2. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Grandview wouldn't go down easily and took Arapahoe into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Grandview was led to victory by Ruby Igel and Ryann Owens. Igel had 11 digs and three assists, while Owens had five aces and one assist. Those five aces gave Owens a new career-high. Amelie Pigeaire also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Grandview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Arapahoe lost, don't look at Cecelie Franklin. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and four assists. Franklin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Grandview's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Arapahoe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
