Volleyball Recap: Ryann Owens and Ruby Igel Secure Win for Grandview + How To Watch

Grandview was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Arapahoe Warriors. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won nine in a row.

Grandview wouldn't go down easily and took Arapahoe into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10.

Leading Grandview to victory were Ruby Igel and Ryann Owens. Igel had 11 digs and three assists, while Owens had five aces and one assist. Those five aces gave Owens a new career-high. Amelie Pigeaire also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Grandview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Grandview's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Arapahoe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
