Baseball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Find Success

Trinity Christian Academy lost to Chester County back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Lions came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 8-4.

Thomas Thornton tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Knox Atwood, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. John Brooks also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Trinity Christian Academy's record is now 9-11-1. As for Chester County, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Coming up, Trinity Christian Academy will square off against Tipton-Rosemark Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chester County, they will face off against Graves County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
