It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hobbs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Carlsbad Cavemen/Cavegirls 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 3, 2024.

Hobbs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Carlsbad and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Coincidentally, Hobbs and Carlsbad will both be playing Artesia the next time they take the field. Carlsbad will head out to face Artesia at 4:30 p.m. on April 7, while Hobbs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on April 11.
