Umatilla piles up the points against Mount Dora

Recap: Umatilla Bulldogs vs. Mount Dora Hurricanes

The Umatilla Bulldogs can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They breezed by Mount Dora on the road to the tune of 61-22. The victory was nothing new for Umatilla as they're now sitting on six straight.

Umatilla found their leader in underclassman Herva Brutus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Brutus is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jayda Washington, who scored ten points along with five steals.

Umatilla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Mount Dora, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Umatilla on the road again on Thursday and play against Lake Weir at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Lake Weir comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Mount Dora, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on South Sumter at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. South Sumter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28.
