Basketball Recap: Anna Black Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

East Central can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Batesville Bulldogs by a score of 44-37. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 41-31 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

East Central got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Black out in front who posted ten points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Natalie Stenger, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

East Central now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Batesville, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.

East Central will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Westfield on January 3, 2025. Batesville and Scottsburg will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
