Football Game Preview: Glen Oaks Panthers vs. Port Allen Pelicans

Glen Oaks is 0-5 against Port Allen since September of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will head out to take on the Pelicans at 7:00 p.m. Glen Oaks has given up an average of 40 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Glen Oaks' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Madison Prep Academy on Thursday. They were outmatched by Madison Prep Academy and fell 66-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Madison Prep Academy are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Port Allen, as they earned their first away win of the season. They had just enough and edged out Helix Mentorship & Maritime Academy 16-14. The Pelicans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Port Allen's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Glen Oaks, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

Things could have been worse for Glen Oaks, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 24-10 loss to Port Allen in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Brennan Gibson (who rushed for 230 yards and two scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
