Baseball Recap: Twin Falls Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ontario

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Twin Falls). Everything went their way against the Ontario Tigers on Saturday as Twin Falls made off with a 17-1 victory. With that win, the Bruins brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Treyson Walker looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Slade Fisher and Ryker Rex did most of the damage at the plate: Fisher scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Rex scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, Rex posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cooper Thompson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Twin Falls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Twin Falls' victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Ontario, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Falls will square off against Pocatello at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pocatello has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Twin Falls will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ontario, they will be taking part in a tournament against Astoria at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
