Football Recap: Astoria/VIT Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Astoria/VIT was the 34-7 winner over Monmouth United when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels were dealt a 54-18 loss at the hands of the Red Storm on Friday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Astoria/VIT still got an impressive performance from Riley Foglesong, who rushed for 170 yards and one TD while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Foglesong is now averaging an impressive 108 rushing yards per game. Jonah Miller was in the mix as well, providing Astoria/VIT with two touchdowns.

Astoria/VIT's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Monmouth United, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Astoria/VIT will look to defend their home field on Friday against Havana at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Colby Martin and Cayden Green. As for Monmouth United, they are taking a road trip to face off against Illini West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
