Baseball Game Preview: Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers vs. Bradley Central Bears

For the second straight game, Howard Tech will face off against Bradley Central. The Hustlin' Tigers will be playing at home against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Howard Tech has struggled recently with 12 losses in a row, while Bradley Central will arrive with six straight victories.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Howard Tech's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 18-0 to Bradley Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

For Bradley Central's part, they let Paxton King and Jonathon Alomar run wild. King scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Alomar scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Alomar a new career-high in RBI (three). Carson Stott was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Bradley Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Howard Tech only posted an OBP of .077.

Bradley Central's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Howard Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
