Basketball Game Preview: Teutopolis Wooden Shoes vs. Breese Central Cougars

The Teutopolis Wooden Shoes will venture away from home to face off against the Breese Central Cougars at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Teutopolis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Teutopolis took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Effingham 54-36.

Meanwhile, Breese Central humbled Greenville with a 65-22 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Breese Central pushed their record up to 22-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Teutopolis, their record is now 20-6.

Teutopolis came up short against Breese Central when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 47-35. Can Teutopolis avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
