Volleyball Game Preview: Boulder City Eagles vs. Virgin Valley Bulldogs

The Boulder City Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Virgin Valley Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boulder City is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Boulder City came up short against Moapa Valley and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-23, 20-25, 25-11, 25-18.

Boulder City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hayden Nordstrom, who had 22 digs and six aces, and Ally Jappe, who had six digs and three aces. Jappe is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last six games she's played. Frankie Ford also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Virgin Valley made easy work of Cristo Rey St. Viator on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won eight in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Virgin Valley was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-7, 25-15.

Boulder City's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Virgin Valley, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Boulder City came up short against Virgin Valley in their previous meeting last Saturday, falling 2-0. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
