Volleyball Recap: Holgate Takes a Loss

Holgate lost against Arcadia back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Redskins by a score of 2-1. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Anna Bower paced Holgate's offense, picking up nine kills. Bower got some help from Tatum Stollings and her 14 assists.

Arcadia's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lexi Theis, who had 13 digs and two aces. Theis is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivy Smith, who had 24 assists and four digs.

Holgate's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Arcadia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-10.

Holgate has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Hilltop on the 30th. As for Arcadia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Van Buren on the 29th.
