Davian Stephenson Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Chowchilla was led to victory by Davian Stephenson, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Stephenson rushed for 290 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (100.7) per game. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.

Chowchilla's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Stephenson and Chowchilla will be playing at home against Minarets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Talan Lamattina produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Liberty to the win on Friday. Lamattina rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, forcing a fumble, and making 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Minarets had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Lamattina it was a similar story. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Lamattina saw the Mustangs), he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Xaidyn Camacho Sets Career High in Rushing Yards

Riverdale was led to victory by Xaidyn Camacho, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Camacho rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Yosemite had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Camacho it was a similar story. When Camacho last faced the Badgers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 82 yards and a touchdown.

Smith Came Up Big in Fowler's 55-29 Loss

While Jerod "Bubba" Smith delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Fowler. Despite the defeat, Smith was still balling out as he threw for 396 yards and four touchdowns.

Fowler's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. Smith will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Riverdale on Friday.

Ethan Dunn Turns in Season-Best Performance

Liberty was led to victory by Ethan Dunn, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Dunn rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made four total tackles.

This year, Dunn has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 43.1 rushing yards per game.
