Baseball Game Preview: Daniel Boone Trailblazers vs. Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones

The Daniel Boone Trailblazers will square off against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Daniel Boone easily dispatched West Ridge on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Trailblazers fell just short of Science Hill by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trailblazers have suffered since March 19, 2024.

T J Leonard led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson McCurry, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Elizabethton not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 27th. They put the hurt on Sullivan East with a sharp 12-1 win. The Fighting Cyclones have beaten the Patriots the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Patriots has come to flipping the script.

Daniel Boone's defeat dropped their record down to 20-8-1. As for Elizabethton, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.

Daniel Boone suffered a grim 10-2 defeat to Elizabethton in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Trailblazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
