Southwest Guilford hadn't done well against Northern Guilford recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Southwest Guilford Cowboys walked away with a 51-39 victory over the Northern Guilford Nighthawks. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys: when they faced off against the Nighthawks back in January, they had to take a 68-45 loss.

Despite the defeat, Northern Guilford saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Leena McField went 8 for 19 en route to 26 points and five rebounds. That was a full 66.7% of Northern Guilford's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malena DeLisa, who scored four points along with six assists and four steals.

Southwest Guilford has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Northern Guilford, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Southwest Guilford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 34-33 defeat against Ragsdale on the 7th. As for Northern Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 65-15 win against Western Guilford on the 7th.
