Basketball Recap: Franklin County Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Franklin County can now relate to. They lost to the Butler Bulldogs on the road by a 60-44 margin on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 35th).

Butler got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jamil Walker out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 boards. The dominant performance gave Walker a new career-high in points. Marcus Scurry Jr. was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Butler, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Butler, they have already played their next game, a 78-73 victory against Carver on the 28th.
