Softball Recap: Progreso Red Ants vs. Rio Hondo Bobcats

Progreso had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it five. They lost 17-3 to the Rio Hondo Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 on April 1st.

As for Rio Hondo, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.

For Rio Hondo's part, Jazmine Delgado was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles Delgado has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Lauren Rincones, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

As of now, neither Progreso nor Rio Hondo have any future games scheduled.
