Soccer Game Preview: Northgate vs. Las Lomas

Northgate is 1-8-1 against Las Lomas since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Broncos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Northgate lost 4-1 to Mt. Diablo on Thursday. Northgate were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Josh Sheehy, who's now up to six this season.

Meanwhile, Las Lomas kept a clean sheet against Pittsburg on Saturday. They beat the Pirates by a goal, winning 1-0. Given Las Lomas' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Pittsburg are ranked 604th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Las Lomas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those ten contests. As for Northgate, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9-2.
