Volleyball Game Preview: Placer Hillmen vs. Roseville Tigers

The Placer Hillmen will venture away from home to face off against the Roseville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Placer took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Del Campo as Placer made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hillmen as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Placer not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Del Campo between 17 and 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Roseville beat Yuba City 3-1 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Honkers: they've now won eight in a row.

Roseville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 25-18.

Placer's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Roseville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-12.

Placer came out on top in a nail-biter against Roseville when the teams last played on March 6th, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Placer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
