Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Panthers vs. Pelion Panthers
The Batesburg-Leesville Panthers came into Tuesday's game having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 50-41 victory over Pelion on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Batesburg-Leesville also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Batesburg-Leesville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kd Whitt, who scored six points along with four steals. Jr Stewart was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zyan Davis, who scored seven points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kolton Rogers, who scored four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Batesburg-Leesville's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11. As for Pelion, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.
Batesburg-Leesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pelion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Silver Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pelion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
