Basketball Game Preview: Vancleave Bulldogs vs. Gautier Gators

Vancleave is 1-8 against Gautier since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vancleave Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Gautier Gators at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Vancleave is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 52-20 loss at the hands of Wayne County. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the War Eagles are ranked 113th).

Meanwhile, Gautier ended up a good deal behind Laurel on Friday and lost 62-47. The Gators have struggled against the Golden Tornadoes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Vancleave's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Gautier, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.
