On Tuesday, Pine Tree was beaten by Center 69-42. Pine Tree has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leading Center to victory were Gabby Whisenant and Lanaijha Johnson. Whisenant scored 19 points, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. The match was Johnson's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ciara Jones was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 3 steals.
Pine Tree has yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.33 points. As for Center, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Pine Tree will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carthage at 12:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Center, they will square off against Beckville at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday.
