Softball Recap: West Seattle Falls to Kennedy Catholic in First Game of Season

West Seattle had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Kennedy Catholic Lancers by a score of 6-4 on Saturday. West Seattle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kennedy Catholic apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2016.

Mackenzie Curry Uzwack made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Kennedy Catholic back to even at 1-1.

Coincidentally, West Seattle and Kennedy Catholic will both be playing South Kitsap the next time they take the field. Kennedy Catholic will host South Kitsap at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while West Seattle will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
