Baseball Recap: Sunnyside Takes a Loss

Sunnyside lost against Hoover back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Eyzec Parada spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Abraham Worrell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Sunnyside and nudges their season record down to 9-15. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Hoover, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Patriots beat Sunnyside by a score of 5-2 on Friday.
