            Softball Recap: Beecher Bobcats vs. Auburn Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Beecher had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  team sidled past the Auburn Trojans  4-2. Four seems to be a good number for the Bobcats as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Beecher's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Tayiah Scanlan, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  Scanlan has posted since back in May of 2024.

The  victory was  the eighth in a row for Beecher, bringing their record up to 36-2. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games  and leaves them with a 27-6 record.
 Beecher and Auburn are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bobcats will challenge Carterville at 4:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their  eighth straight  victory, something Beecher surely won't give up without a fight. As for Auburn, they will face off against North Boone at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9  runs per game  this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
