The Carey Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 52-44 victory over Columbus Grove. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but Carey was the better team in the second half.
Riley Yost was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rachel Reinhart, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Carey pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Columbus Grove, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.
Carey and Colonel Crawford will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Colonel Crawford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Columbus Grove will be home for the holidays to greet Kalida at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
