Softball Recap: Mesa Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Mesa had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Westwood Warriors by a score of 21-16 on Monday. For the Jackrabbits, this counts as revenge for the 18-6 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brooklyn Isom was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and five runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (six). Nevaeh Calvo also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Mesa's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for Westwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10-1.

Mesa has already played their next matchup, a 23-0 loss against Mountain View on the 8th. As for Westwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-11 win against Skyline on the 8th.
