Recap: Santa Monica Vikings vs. Kaiser Cats

The Santa Monica Vikings extended their postseason success on Friday against the Kaiser Cats. They strolled past the Cats with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. 35 seems to be a good number for Santa Monica as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Caden Mccallum was his usual excellent self, rushing for 240 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Mccallum really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Brown, who rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown.

Several Cats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiyel Tyler, who gained 133 total yards. Jonathan Marshall Jr was in the mix as well, providing Kaiser with two touchdowns.

The victory (which was Santa Monica's third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points per game. As for Kaiser, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Santa Monica is on the road again on Friday and play against Rio Hondo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Rio Hondo Prep will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Kaiser does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
