Apple Valley hasn't had much luck against Highland recently, but that could start to change  on Saturday. The Apple Valley Sun Devils will welcome the Highland Bulldogs  at 11:00  a.m. Apple Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7  runs per game  this season.
Apple Valley fell victim to Quartz Hill and their airtight pitching crew  on Friday. They lost  8-0 to the Royals. The  match marked the first time this season in which the Sun Devils were not able to get on the board.
 Apple Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  LIZA LOZANO, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  double. That  double marked the first that  LOZANO  hit this season.
Meanwhile, Highland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. Everything went their way against the Burros as they made off with  an  11-2 victory. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Paisley Memory made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the fewest  hits  she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with one  triple and one  run. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news, Highland got a  massive  performance out of  Bella Williams, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Aubrey Reyes, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.
 Highland  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .526. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
 This is the second loss in a row for Apple Valley and  nudges their season record down to 3-3-1. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Saturday. Apple Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.4  home runs per game. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.5  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
