George Jenkins had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Bartow on Tuesday. George Jenkins blew past Bartow 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Easton Nunez made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Armani Cozza, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two runs. George Jenkins is 8-1 when Cozza posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Kam Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

George Jenkins always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bartow only posted an OBP of .324.

George Jenkins pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bartow, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George Jenkins will head out to challenge Lakeland Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakeland Christian will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something George Jenkins surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bartow, they will face off against Lake Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Gibson has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.59 runs per game on average), something Bartow will no doubt try to take advantage of.
